 Art classes explore all of the possibilities of painting and drawing. My approach to teaching utilizes familiar subjects and themes with creative uses of tools and materials, to foster an artistic sense of spontaneity.  Studies include a fundamental approach to techniques and concepts; exploration of black and white graphics; color mixing and contrasts; sensitivity to values, nuances and textures; methods of observation; transformation of reality by the imagination; and exploration of different techniques, media and materials. Additional teaching emphasis is placed on laws of representation; conceptualization; composition and framing skills; geometry; light and shadow; rendering perspective and depth of field; and facial and physical proportions. |
